The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a luminescent anthracene-based imidazolium salt designated as IBPA (3-(anthracen-9-ylmethyl)-5-phenyl-1-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl]-1H- imidazol-3-ium hexafluorophosphate) and a method of preparation thereof. The present disclosure also provides a luminescent composite comprising 3-(anthracen-9- ylmethyl)-5-phenyl-1-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl]-1H-imidazol-3-ium hexafluorophosphate dispersed within the polymer matrix. There IBPA exhibits measurable crystalline-state photoluminescence with a PLQY of 6%, demonstrating that the specifically designed molecular architecture can provide emissive solid-state behaviour despite the inherent aggregation propensity of anthracene. The present disclosure further improves the PLQY from approximately 6% in crystalline IBPA to 16% upon incorporation into a polymer, representing an approximately 2.7-fold improvement in emission efficiency.
