MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647099672 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on August 18, 2026, for Antenna Status Determination Based On Monostatic Sensing Signal.
Inventors include Syed Abdul Kareem, Syed Mohamed; Zhang, Xiaoxin; and M, Kiruba Thomas.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to utilization of a monostatic sensing signal to detect antenna status information associated with a wireless node. For example, monostatic sensing signals (e.g., Wi-Fi radar, ultrawideband (UWB) radar, mmWave radar, etc.) may be utilized to self-learn whether the antenna orientation has changed and/or whether there are defect(s) in the antenna(s). In an aspect, signal processing and/or machine learning may be utilized to enhance the precision of detecting a change in the antenna orientation and/or antenna damage and alert user accordingly. Such aspects may provide various technical advantages, such as improved antenna operation of the wireless node (e.g., by facilitating antenna repair and/or reorientation in case of antenna orientation change or antenna damage).
