MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621109020 A) filed by Hetalben Hirenkumar Savaliya; and Hirenkumar Vallabhbhai Savaliya on September 11, 2026, for Annular Vitrified-Diamond Wheel And Method Of Manufacturing An Annular Vitrified-Diamond Wheel.
Inventor includes Hirenkumar Vallabhbhai Savaliya.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: An annular vitrified-diamond wheel (1) is disclosed for grinding a polycrystalline diamond wafer (44). A vitrified abrasive ring (3) is mechanically retained on a carrier (4) through an engineered carrier interface (5) independently of any adhesive joint. The ring (3) comprises a diamond-abrasive component (12) of from 59 wt.% to 62 wt.% presented as at least two adjacent mesh fractions in equal proportions, a glass-ceramic vitrified bond system (11), polycrystalline diamond powder crystals (19) as a separate and coarser constituent and an open porosity produced by removal of a temporary pore former (18) in a firing stage separate from vitrification. The bond (11) is an alkali-borosilicate glass-ceramic of verified hydrolytic durability in continuously recirculated water. A method (10) comprises staged blending, annular compaction, a two-stage thermal cycle (39), controlled cooling, precision finishing, balancing and qualification including Raman verification that the diamond is undamaged and a recirculated-water durability test.
