Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to announcing area for proximity services. In an aspect, a first communication device receives sensing information for a sensing device. The first communication device transmits, to a core network function of the communication network, a request for an announcing area for announcing a proximity based services (ProSe) message. The first communication device receives, from the core network function, a response to the request. The response comprises information indicative of the announcing area. The first communication device transmits, to the sensing device, a request to provide sensing data, and determines that at least a second communication device is in the announcing area. The first communication device transmits a signal comprising the ProSe message. As such, in embodiments of the present disclosure, the ProSe service code announcement or relay is directly triggered by sensing results and faster. An Announcement message flooding can be avoided.
