MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111353 A) filed by Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation on September 17, 2026, for Ann-Based Zn–cu Bio-Nanomaterial Solar Desalination System.

Inventors include Ch. Mohitha; V Viswanath Shenoi; and S. Shanmugan.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial neural network-based thermo-nano system for solar desalination and natural water purification using Zn–Cu bio- nanomaterials synthesized from mango leaf extract. The system comprises a solar desalination assembly, a Zn–Cu nanomaterial-based photothermal enhancement layer, sensors, a data acquisition unit, and an artificial neural network configured to predict and optimize thermal and desalination performance. The bio-nanomaterials enhance solar absorption, heat transfer, water heating, and evaporation. The neural network receives material, environmental, thermal, and operating parameters and predicts absorber temperature, evaporation rate, freshwater productivity, and efficiency. A feedback and optimization module adjusts material composition and operating conditions to improve freshwater generation and reduce energy losses.
