Abstract: grid-connected Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive. The proposed system integrates a grid supply, power electronic conversion stage, ANN controller, DC—DC converter and BLDC motor to provide controlled electrical power and motor operation. The ANN controller generates suitable control signals for controlling the DC— DC converter according to the required operating conditions. The converter regulates the electrical power supplied to the BLDC motor, supporting the coordinated operation of the power conversion stage and motor drive. The proposed system can be modelled and evaluated using MATLAB/Simulink to analyse motor speed, electromagnetic torque and relevant electrical parameters. The obtained simulation waveforms can be used to assess the behaviour of the proposed ANN-based control strategy under selected operating conditions. By integrating artificial neural network-based control with power electronic conversion, the invention provides an intelligent control approach for grid-connected BLDC motor drive applications. The proposed system may be applicable to industrial motor drives, automation systems and other applications requiring controlled BLDC motor operation. Furthermore, the proposed control strategy is intended to improve the adaptability of the motor drive during variations in operating conditions. The ANN controller processes the relevant input parameters and generates appropriate control signals to support the regulation of the DC—DC converter and the overall motor drive operation. The performance of the system can be examined by comparing the reference and actual motor speed, torque response, and electrical characteristics obtained from MATLAB/Simulink simulations. The proposed arrangement provides a flexible control framework that can be further developed for different load requirements and operating conditions. Therefore, the invention establishes a simulation-based approach for investigating ANN-assisted power conversion and control in grid-connected BLDC motor drive systems.
