Abstract: AN ANGLED EPISIOTOMY SCISSORS Provided is an episiotomy scissors assembly (100) configured for use during obstetric procedures. The assembly comprising a first and a second elongated arm (102, 104), each terminating at a proximal end in a ring-shaped finger grip and at a distal end in a cutting blade. The assembly comprises a pivot unit (108) comprising a rotatable pivot screw or rivet positioned substantially at the mechanical balance point of the assembly (100), coupling the first and second arms (102, 104) to permit rotational articulation between an open and a closed configuration. The assembly includes a goniometer scale (106) affixed concentrically around or integrally formed with the pivot unit (108), the scale including angular demarcations extending up to 60°. The goniometer scale (106) is operatively aligned with a reference indicator on one of the arms or blades for enabling user to align the blades along a precise predetermined episiotomy incision angle in situ.
