Abstract: The present invention relates to an unmanned aerial vehicle-enabled artificial intelligence-based system(100) for corrosion detection and mapping. The present invention includes an unmanned aerial vehicle(102) and a user device(124). The unmanned aerial vehicle(102) configured for autonomous inspection of a target structure. The unmanned aerial vehicle(102) includes a RGB camera sensor(104), a thermal camera sensor(106), a LiDAR sensor (108), an environmental sensor(110), an inertial measurement unit sensor(112), an obstacle sensor(114), a computing unit(116) and a wireless communication module(122). The processing unit(120) implements a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to perform corrosion detection, corrosion segmentation, corrosion severity classification, and geospatial localization, and to generate a georeferenced corrosion map, a corrosion heatmap, and a digital twin representation of the target structure, perform structural risk assessment, maintenance recommendation generation, and alert notification generation. The user device(124) configured to display corrosion maps, corrosion heat maps, structural risk information, maintenance recommendations and alert notifications.
