The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for isolating cell free DNA (cf-DNA) from a blood sample. The method comprises isolating plasma from the given blood sample and adding lysis buffer, carrier RNA and proteinase K to the plasma sample to form a sample mixture. The sample mixture is incubated and treated with washing buffer 1 and 2 and elution buffer as well to obtain cell free DNA (cf-DNA). The quantity of cell free DNA obtained is measured by nanodrop or Qubit system. The method of the present disclosure is simple, cost effective, stable and less time-consuming. The method of present disclosure provides an attractive alternative for a painful bone marrow biopsy for disease prognostication and monitoring in leukemia.
