Abstract: The present invention discloses an orodispersible film formulation of omeprazole and a method for preparation thereof. The formulation comprises omeprazole, a film-forming polymer, a plasticizer, and a stabilizing agent to enhance stability and prevent acid degradation. The film further includes taste-masking agents to improve palatability. The formulation is prepared using a solvent casting method followed by drying and cutting into uniform strips. The film rapidly disintegrates in the oral cavity without the need for water, providing improved patient compliance, especially for pediatric and geriatric patients. The invention offers a stable, convenient, and effective alternative to conventional dosage forms of omeprazole.
