MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611063535 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology on May 20, 2026, for An Optimized Routing Protocol For Wireless Sensor Networks.
Inventors include Bhawna Khullar; and Ranjana Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an optimized routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. A sensor node processing unit maintains neighbour information and computes a composite route score based on residual energy, link reliability, congestion condition, forwarding progress, and delivery history. An adaptive weight controller adjusts metric influence according to network condition, while a route selection engine identifies primary and reserve next hops. A route maintenance module performs localized repair after link or node degradation, thereby improving packet delivery, balancing energy consumption, and reducing routing overhead.
