MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106555 A) filed by Dawniens International Private Limited on September 04, 2026, for An Optical Switching Apparatus For Selectively Establishing Fiber-To-Fiber Optical Communication.
Inventors include Muhammed Rameesh V P; and Ragesh Puthusseri.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: An optical switching apparatus (100) for selectively establishing fiber-to-fiber optical communication is disclosed. The apparatus (100) comprises a base plate (106), a multi-port fiber routing drum (110) having a plurality of ports distributed along a circumferential path, and at least one movable optical fiber disposed within a flat fiber conduit (202) and mounted on a carriage. A guide assembly (118), an indexing mechanism (120), and an actuation mechanism (116) cooperate to position the movable optical fiber relative to a selected port. A routing assembly comprising a vertical pulley array and an upper pulley array (302) manages movement of the movable optical fiber during translation. A passive alignment interface (130) aligns the movable optical fiber with an optical fiber received in the selected port to establish direct fiber-to-fiber optical communication. An external feedback system may verify alignment prior to communication establishment. Fig. 1
