MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641095272 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on August 06, 2026, for An Optical Based Encryption And Decryption System And A Method Thereof.
Inventors include Nithyanandan Kanagaraj; and Bharathy J.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present subject matter discloses an optical based encryption method. The method includes receiving an image and converting the image into an optical field. The method includes allowing by one or more multimode fibre propagation channels (210a) an entry to the optical field to propagate in a form of a plurality of spatial guide modes. The method includes allowing by the one or more multimode fibre propagation channels (210a) an interfering of the plurality of spatial guide modes encrypting the optical field into speckle-based ciphertexts. Further an optical based decryption method is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a DNN (208b), a plurality of speckle-based ciphertexts associated with an image. The method includes decrypting by a spatially varying phase profile of a plurality of layers (214b) the speckle- based ciphertexts based on a unique ordering and a unique orientation of the plurality of layers into the image. {FIG. 3a &3b}
