Abstract: AN OPEN GRID USED FOR REINFORCEMENT IN FLEXIBLE AND RIGID PAVEMENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF The present invention discloses an open grid for asphaltic paving and method of manufacture thereof. The open grid comprises a desired number of strands (101) in each yarn (103) of a plurality of yarn (105) and a leno polyester thread (111) in a first direction, the adjacent yarns of the plurality of yarns in the first direction being separated by a distance (107); at least single yarn (109) in a second direction, the polyester thread performing interlacement of the desired number of strands (101) in the first direction and concurrently fixedly joining each of an intersection (113) of each yarn of the plurality of yarns with the at least single yarn; and an aperture (115) being formed when the at least single yarn from the second direction is mechanically directed at the plurality of yarns (105) in the first direction at a regular interval of time.
