MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411095145 A) filed by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited on December 03, 2024, for An Oil Level Detection System And A Method Of Detection Thereof.
Inventors include Shiv Prakash; Abhinav Sood; and Malvinder Tiwana.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to an oil level detection system (200) and method (500) for determination of oil level in differential housing (202) of a vehicle (100) with implement (101). The system (200) comprises a first sensor (201), a second sensor (203), a controller (205), a memory unit (206) and an alarm unit (207). The first sensor (201) is configured to transmit a signal based on the transmission oil level inside the differential housing (202) of the vehicle (100). The second sensor (203) is configured to transmit a signal based on the state of the direction control valve (204). The controller (205) is configured to receive the signals transmitted by the first sensor (201) and the second sensor (203) and determine the transmission oil level and state of the direction control valve (204), respectively. The memory unit (206) is configured to store predetermined minimum threshold of transmission oil level required in the differential housing (202). The controller (205) is configured to trigger the alarm unit (207) to raise an audio alarm and/or visual alarm when the level of transmission oil inside the differential housing (202) drops below the predetermined minimum thresholds provided by the memory unit (206) and the direction control valve (204) is in OPEN state indicating flow of oil from the differential housing (202) of the vehicle (100) to the hydraulic system (102) of the implement (101).
