Abstract: This project presents the design and implementation of an loT-based automatic indexing and piece counting system developed using an ESP32 microcontroller as the main control unit. The system is designed to automate the indexing of jig plate by precisely rotating a stepper motor in fixed 60° increments. The indexing operation is controlled based on inputs from a limit switch, which 15 ensures accurate home positioning, and a programmable dwell time that allows a controlled delay between successive movements. By rotating the motor six times at 60° per step, a complete 360° rotation is achieved, and the system automatically counts it as one finished piece. The ESP32 generates precise step pulses and manages motor control through a stepper motor driver, ensuring accurate and 20 repeatable positioning. The integrated limit switch enhances reliability by providing a reference point for calibration and preventing positional errors. ALCD display is incorporated into the system to provide real-time feedback, showing parameters such as the programmed dwell time and the number of components machined. This improves user interaction and operational transparency. In addition to local control 25 and display, the system incorporates loT functionality through the built-in WiFi capability of the ESP32. A web-based interface enables remote monitoring and control of system parameters, allowing users to adjust dwell time, monitor production count, and observe system status from'a connected device. This remote accessibility enhances flexibility and supports modern industrial automation requirements. 30 Overall, the proposed solution offers a cost-effective, accurate, and scalable automation system. It is particularly suitable for small-scale industries, where precise indexing of the workpiece in a jig and production monitoring are essential.
