Abstract: The present invention develops an IoT based soil health monitoring system which provides real time data of soil moisture and soil electrical conductivity. Further, this data can be utilized to optimize irrigation and nutrient levels to support precision agriculture thereby fostering sustainable development. These sensors in the developed prototype interfaced with microcontroller unit which acquires this real time data from sensors and then processes this data and initiates actuating units based on the pre- defined threshold levels. Conventional soil assessment methods are labor intensive, time consuming, and incapable in providing real time soil health information such as soil electrical conductivity soil moisture etc. Though, some automated systems have been investigated but its real time implementation with decision support systems is still a challenging issue nowadays. As AI driven technologies need advanced hardware and software which can adapt to changes in the field and provide predictive measures by incorporating intelligent decisions and actions for precise agricu Iture. To provide wireless connectivity Wi-Fi module is used through which system can be accessed to monitor and control actions remotely by using graphic user interface (GUI)/mobile app. Further, new insights from the realtime datacan betaken to actuate solenoid valve and waterpumpto optimize irrigation scheduling. Moreover, data driven nutrient management can be investigated upon receiving real time data of soil electrical cond ucti v ity. The dual mode power supply is used to provide 12 V to electrical conductivity sensor and another is 5 V which is used for other modules of the system. The proposed system promotes sustainable agriculture enhances crop productivity, and conserves water resources by facilitating data-driven irrigation and nutrient management. In future, edge-based microcontroller is used to support tiny ML algorithms for realtime decision support which enables faster autonomous system independent of cloud infrastructure.
