Abstract: Title of Invention An IoT-Based System for Monitoring and Predicting Refractory Degradation in Industrial Furnaces Abstract An IoT-based system for monitoring and predicting refractory degradation in industrial furnace comprises a Sensor and Data Acquisition Subsystem (1) having temperature-pressure sensors (1b), a Processing, Control and Edge Computing Subsystem (2) including a microcontroller unit (2a), a Communication and Networking Subsystem (3), and a Cloud Storage and Analytics Platform (4). During operation, the sensors (1b) continuously acquire furnace operating parameters, and the microcontroller unit (2a) conditions, filters, digitizes and processes the acquired signals. The processed data are transmitted through a communication module (3a) to the cloud platform (4), where a regression-based predictive machine-learning model (100) analyzes thermal, mechanical and operational parameters to estimate refractory degradation, remaining useful life and predicted failure temperature and generate maintenance recommendations (104). Predicted conditions are compared with predefined thresholds, and detected abnormalities trigger alerts (214) through SMS, email, dashboard or mobile application for predictive maintenance and furnace protection.
