Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based smart vending machine configured to provide automated product dispensing, dispensing verification, fault detection, inventory management, payment verification, and remote monitoring. The system comprises an ESP32 microcontroller (100), a motor driver module (101), a DC geared motor (102), a spiral dispensing mechanism (103), an infrared (IR) sensor (104), a current sensing module (105), an IoT communication module (106), and a power supply unit (107). Upon successful payment verification, the selected product is dispensed and verified using the IR sensor. The current sensing module monitors motor operation to detect dispensing faults, including product jams and motor abnormalities, and enables automatic recovery through a reverse-retry mechanism. The system further performs fault classification, inventory monitoring and real-time communication of operational data and alerts to an authorized operator through an IoT platform. Accordingly, the invention provides an intelligent vending machine system that enhances dispensing reliability, operational efficiency, and remote management capabilities.
