Abstract: ABSTRACT AN IoT-BASED SMART SCHOOL BUS TRACKING AND STUDENT SAFETY SYSTEM WITH RFID ATTENDANCE The present invention discloses an IoT-based smart school bus tracking and student safety system (100) integrating GPS location monitoring, RFID student attendance recording, and automated parent notification. A GPS module (110) transmits bus position at configurable intervals. An RFID reader (122) logs student boarding and alighting events with GPS coordinates and timestamps, linked to registered student profiles on a cloud fleet management platform (140). Push notifications and SMS are dispatched to parents upon each event. An arrival prediction engine (148) notifies parents when the bus approaches their designated stop. A school administrator dashboard (160) provides real-time bus locations, per-trip attendance records, and anomaly alerts for missing events. The system addresses gaps between commercial fleet tracking and the student-specific attendance and notification requirements of school transportation safety. [
