The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based parcel tampering detection system and method for real-time monitoring of parcel integrity during transportation and storage. The system comprises a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) positioned within a parcel to detect unauthorized opening through changes in light intensity, a conductive copper wire seal configured to detect physical tampering by monitoring electrical continuity, and a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller configured to continuously monitor sensor outputs. Upon detection of a tampering event, the microcontroller generates a tamper status, activates an audible alert, and transmits the status to a cloud-based database through a wireless communication network. The parcel is further associated with a unique QR code to enable parcel identification and verification through a corresponding digital record. The parcel status is displayed in real time on a remote web interface, allowing continuous monitoring throughout transit. The proposed system provides a compact, low-cost, scalable, and reliable solution for detecting unauthorized parcel opening and physical damage, making it suitable for logistics, courier, postal, and e-commerce applications.
