Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent Internet of Things (IoT)-based multi-sensor water quality monitoring system, referred to as Aqua Sense, for continuous assessment of water quality using temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and turbidity sensors integrated with embedded processing, cloud computing, and machine learning techniques. The system continuously acquires real-time sensor data from various water sources, including reservoirs, rivers, lakes, pipelines, industrial facilities, and domestic water distribution systems. The acquired data are preprocessed through noise filtering, normalization, feature extraction, and multi-sensor data fusion to improve analytical accuracy before intelligent evaluation. The analyzed sensor data are subjected to machine learning algorithms that calculate the Water Quality Index (WQI), categorize water as either potable or non-potable, detect abnormal environmental situations and predict future contamination possibilities. The present invention uses wireless communication technology such as Wi-Fi, GSM and LoRa for the secure transfer of data collected from the sensors to a cloud based monitoring system for the purpose of visualization, data storage, remote access and prediction analysis. In case of detection of unsafe water conditions, the system triggers alert messages through SMS, emails, mobile apps and websites for necessary actions to be taken. This proposed invention presents an effective solution to continuous water quality monitoring, contamination prediction, intelligent decision making and sustainable water resources management. This invention is ideal to use in municipal water supply networks, water treatment plants, industries, agriculture irrigation systems, aquaculture, environmental monitoring applications and smart cities infrastructure.
