MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641114373 A) filed by Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute Of Engineering And Technology on September 24, 2026, for An Iot-Based Grain Dryer With Integrated Rotational Mixing And Real-Time Environmental Control.

Inventor includes Dr. B. Chennakesava Rao.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT [0026] After harvesting, grain drying is one of the most significant agricultural practices, as it will impact the quality, shelf life, and price of the dried produce. Conventional methods such as sun drying or drying grain on the ground can take a long time and depend on the weather. As a result, these methods do not provide a consistent amount of moisture removed from the grain. Grain that has not been dried properly will deteriorate quickly and produce waste. Therefore, this project is being developed to address the shortcomings of previous drying methods by implementing an Internet of Things (IoT) based approach to efficiently dry grain using an integrated motorized and rotational rake to mix the grain during the drying process. Additionally, the integration of an air-based feed system and a perforated floor for airflow through the drying chamber ensure proper airflow through the grain while drying. Real-time moisture and temperature sensors will be connected to a microcontroller associating with the ESP32 microcontoller for collecting and transmitting data to a cloud-based service for visualization and control of the system. The outcomes of the proposed system will yield an increase in drying efficiency; a decrease in the amount of time it takes to dry grain and an increased ability to control the environmental factors affecting the drying process of the grain. This represents a practical solution to contemporary agricultural practices related to drying grain.
