Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based carbon monoxide monitoring and alert system. The system comprises an MQ-7 sensor (101) configured to detect carbon monoxide gas concentration through resistance variation and generate corresponding analog electrical signals. A microcontroller (102), comprising an ESP32 development board with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, receives the analog output of the MQ-7 sensor (101), performs automatic baseline calibration in clean-air conditions, applies median filtering, moving average filtering, and spike rejection to generate stable ppm-like carbon monoxide values. Based on predefined threshold levels, the microcontroller (102) activates the LCD display, LED, and buzzer alert unit (103), providing green, yellow, and red multi-level visual and audible warnings. Simultaneously, the microcontroller (102) transmits real-time data to the mobile application and cloud interface (104) via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and logging. A power supply unit (105) provides regulated DC power to all system components. The system is low-cost, portable, and deployable in residential, industrial, and vehicular environments.
