Abstract: ABSTRACT AN IOT-BASED ATM SECURITY SYSTEM The present invention discloses a smart ATM security system based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller for improving user verification and cash withdrawal process security. The system proposed uses different technological elements, such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) or biometric scanners for user identification, a keypad for input by hand, and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) or Wi-Fi modules for communication in real time with users' mobile phones. The heart of the system is the Arduino Uno, which acts as the processing core. The authentication of the user starts with the inclusion of an RFID or biometric reader, providing an easy identification experience. The user can either read their RFID card or offer a biometric input (like a fingerprint) to trigger the transaction. This multi-factor authentication process greatly increases security by allowing only approved users to access the ATM functions. After the user has been identified, they are asked to input their Personal Identification Number (PIN) through a secure mobile application or web portal. The mobile application not only allows for the input of the PIN but also produces a one-time password (OTP) that is an added layer of security.
