Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an IoT and AI-driven intelligent waste management system designed for automated waste identification, segregation, monitoring, and analysis. The system integrates an image acquisition module, a machine learning-based classification unit, multi-sensor monitoring, a microcontroller-based control system, and an automated sorting mechanism. Waste images are captured and processed using deep learning techniques to classify materials such as plastic, metal, paper, and organic waste. Sensor modules including ultrasonic, load cell, moisture, gas, and contamination sensors support real-time monitoring of waste conditions. The classified output is used to control conveyor- based actuators for automated segregation into respective bins. The system also enables cloud connectivity and mobile application access for data storage, alerts, and monitoring. The proposed system reduces manual handling, improves segregation efficiency, and supports real-time monitoring for effective waste management operations.
