MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115115 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Madras Iit Madras on September 25, 2026, for An Intracellular Delivery Device For High-Throughput Intracellular Biomolecule Transfection.

Inventors include Tuhin Subhra Santra; Allwin Grace; Yuvasree C; Abinaya R; and Akanksha Jha.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an intracellular delivery device (100) for high-throughput intracellular biomolecule transfection. The intracellular delivery device (100) includes a cylindrical container (102), a motor (104), and at least one rotor (106). The cylindrical container (102) is adapted to receive a suspension having cells and one or more biomolecules. The motor (104) is mounted on the cylindrical container (102). The at least one rotor (106) is positioned within the cylindrical container (102) at a predefined gap from an inner wall (102-1) of the cylindrical container (102) and operatively connected to the motor (104). Herein, the at least one rotor (106) is adapted to be rotated, by the motor (104), within the cylindrical container (102) at a predefined rotational speed to agitate the suspension to induce temporary nanopore formation on the membrane of cells, enabling intracellular biomolecule transfection.
