Abstract: ABSTRACT An Interpretable Battery Modeling System For Lithium-Ion Batteries And A Method Of Operating The Same The present disclosure relates to an interpretable battery modeling system for lithium-ion batteries, configured to estimate state of charge (SOC) and predict terminal voltage with high accuracy using limited experimental data. The system includes a physics-based equivalent circuit model (ECM) including at least a two-RC network, integrated with a hybrid neural network module (618) in a fusion framework. The hybrid neural network module (618) includes a recurrent neural network (620) configured to estimate SOC from sequential current measurements and one or more feedforward neural networks (622) configured to predict selected equivalent- circuit parameters, the parameters including open-circuit voltage (Vb) and resistance (R1). A computation unit (614) implements the fusion framework by combining estimated SOC and predicted parameters with the ECM under physical constraints to generate terminal-voltage predictions in real time, wherein remaining equivalent-circuit parameters are maintained at fixed values.
