MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621091620 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Bombay on July 28, 2026, for An Internet Of Things (iot)-Enabled Dynamic Air Sampling System.

Inventors include Ambarish Kunwar; Atharva Uday Jaltare; and Stuti Vyas.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: An Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled dynamic air sampling system (100) is disclosed for autonomously collecting airborne particulates from multiple geographically distributed locations. The system (100) comprises an air sampler assembly (200), a connector assembly (300), a robotic mobile base assembly (400), and an onboard controller (500) (not shown). The air sampler assembly (200) includes a housing (200H), a plurality of cyclone chamber assemblies (203, 204, 205), and a chamber selection mechanism. The connector assembly (300) provides sealed airflow between the air sampler assembly (200) and a suction pump. The robotic mobile base assembly (400) includes a LiDAR sensor (403), an inertial measurement unit holder (404), and independently driven wheels (405–408) enabling autonomous navigation. The onboard controller (500) (not shown) coordinates robotic navigation, chamber selection, airflow regulation, and IoT-based communication for remote monitoring, thereby enabling automated, air quality monitoring with minimal human intervention.
