Abstract: ABSTRACT AN INTERLOCKED MULTI-POLARISED PRINTED LOG-PERIODIC ANTENNA SYSTEM WITH REFLECTOR FOR WIRELESS ENERGY HARVESTING A multi-polarised antenna system for wireless energy harvesting comprises two substantially identical printed log-periodic dipole array antennas mechanically interlocked in mutually orthogonal planes along a common longitudinal axis, each antenna having an independent port operative in one of two orthogonal linear polarisations. Both antennas are compatible with commercial photolithography. The interlocked feed is integrated at the focal region of a parabolic reflector, its dimensions optimised to the reflector curvature. The -10 dB impedance bandwidths of the two ports, 2.91–6 GHz and 2.6–6 GHz respectively, overlap over a common octave of about 3–6 GHz, with mutual coupling below about -7 dB across the band. The integrated system exhibits a boresight gain of about 16–25 dBi with high pattern integrity, substantially similar for both polarisations. Each port feeds an impedance matched rectifier, whereby ambient energy in both polarisations is harvested, substantially doubling the harvested energy. FIG. 1
