MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531028975 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on March 27, 2025, for An Inter-Stage Impeller Blade For Multistage Centrifugal Boiler Feed Pump.

Abstract: This invention relates to multistage centrifugal boiler feed pump assembly, which comprises of a casing suction (1), stage-1 Impeller (2), stage-1 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (3), stage-2 Impeller (4), stage-2 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (5), stage-3 Impeller (6), stage-3 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (7), stage-4 Impeller (8), stage-4 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (9), stage-5 Impeller (10), stage-5 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (11), stage-6 Impeller (12), stage-6 Diffuser and Return Channel Vane (13), which are arranged one after another on a shaft (S) for rotating the impellers. The trailing edge of the impeller blade is changed to 400 which leads to improvement of efficiency by at least 1% and increase in head by about 8%. The invention involves improvement in performance of pump with ease of fabrication and assembly, and also attainment of better inflow at throat area, impeller head generation and efficiency of the pump.
