Abstract: In the current digital world privacy of information has become a contentious issue. There is more rapid growth of digital communication in the form of images audio and video through the various platforms. In most of the cases it is not possible to protect just the content of data. The existence of sensitive information itself will present security risks. Steganography is a workable solution as it conceals hidden messages within the normal files of multimedia. The strategy enables the use of secret conversations and it does not create doubts. The present project GetStego offers a web based multimedia steganography tool, which should be used to transmit data with secrecy and covertness. The system aids in concealing and retrieving hidden messages based on audio and video files in a picture. Hidden data embedded are inserted on the bit level with Least Significant Bit based embedding. This process guarantees that there is a little alteration to the original quality of the media. Rigid based secure key mechanism is used to secure the concealed message. Controlled access is provided by a cryptographic keystream based on the secret key. Only authorized users that have the proper key can access the original data successfully. There is a cautious way that each media file is run through during embedding stage. The system is capable of altering the bits which are not too significant so that there can be no distortion which is easy to recognize. In extraction the inverse technique is used to extract the hidden message correctly. Upon recovering, the original media is still similar to its original media, taking the form of images and audio. The system has high accuracy in the recovery of messages coupled with a preservation in the quality of the media. GetStego is written all in Python and processes multimedia data with the help of open-source libraries. The system is also cross platform and can be used in other operating systems. Its web interface is easy and straightforward and this feature enables users to insert and remove messages with ease. The system can also be rendered accessible by its modular design that can be extended in the future and be chosen by further enhancements. The given project proves that multimedia steganography is a viable and effective technique of safe data transfer and secretive correspondence in contemporary e- applications.
