Abstract: The Intelligent Security and Threat Mitigation Framework for Internet of Vehicles (Io V) IS designed to address the growmg cyber security challenges m connected vehicular environments. As vehicles increasingly rely on wireless communication, cloud services, roadside infrastructure,- and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) networks, they become vulnerable to various cyber threats such as spoofing attacks, denial-of-service attacks, malware infiltration data tampering and unauthorized access. The proposed framework introduces a multi-layered security architecture that- combines artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time threat intelligence to detect, analyze, and mitigate security threats within the Io V ecosystem. The framework continuously monitors vehicle communication patterns, network traffic and system behavior using intelligent anomaly detection algorithms. Machine learning models are employed to identify both known and previously unseen (zero-day) attacks with high accuracy. Upon detecting suspicious activities, the system automatically initiates threat mitigation measures such as traffic filtering, access control enforcement, node isolation and secure route reconfiguration to prevent the spread of attacks. Block chain-based authentication and encryption mechanisms are incorporated to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and trust among communicating entities. Furthermore, the framework supports real-time decision-making through edge computing, reducing response latency and improving the reliability of security operations. The integration of predictive analytics enables proactive threat assessment and risk management, enhancing the overall resilience of Io V networks. Experimental evaluations demonstrate improved detection rates, reduced false alarms, lower response times and enhanced protection against emerging cyber threats. The framework further leverages edge computing to process security related data closer to vehicles, significantly reducing latency and enabling faster response times. The proposed intelligent security framework provides a scalable, adaptive and robust solution for safeguarding next-generation connected vehicles and intelligent transportation systems, thereby promoting safer, more secure and trustworthy vehicular communications.
