Abstract: An Intelligent Residual Flux Conditioning System for Adaptive Reduction of Transformer’s Inrush Current The present invention relates to an intelligent residual flux conditioning system for adaptive reduction of transformer inrush current during transformer energization. The system comprises a sensing unit configured to acquire transformer voltage and current signals, a processing unit configured to estimate residual magnetic flux without employing a magnetic flux sensor, an artificial intelligence module configured to determine an optimized switching angle based on the estimated residual magnetic flux and historical energization data, a memory unit configured to store transformer operating information, and a control unit configured to operate a circuit breaker according to the optimized switching angle. Following each energization event, the system updates the artificial intelligence model using the resulting electrical response, thereby continuously improving switching performance through adaptive learning. The proposed system minimizes transformer inrush current, reduces mechanical and thermal stresses, prevents unnecessary operation of protection relays, enhances transformer reliability, extends service life, and eliminates the requirement for dedicated magnetic flux sensing devices. The invention is suitable for application in power transmission systems, distribution networks, renewable energy systems, and smart substations. [To be published along with Figure 1]
