MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106260 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College on September 03, 2026, for An Intelligent Iot Based Smart Flooring Systems For Gait Recognition Access Authenication And Intrusion Detection.
Inventors include Dr. P. Kumar; and Santhosh.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses an Intelligent IoT-Based Smart Flooring System for Gait Recognition, Access Authentication and Intrusion Detection. The system comprises a pressure sensor flooring array, embedded processing unit and wireless communication module, cloud monitoring platform, artificial intelligence gait recognition engine and intrusion detection engine. The pressure sensing modules continuously capture footstep pressure distributions, walking dynamics, stride characteristics and movement patterns. The acquired sensor information is processed by an embedded control unit and transmitted through IoT communication networks to a cloud-connected analytics platform. The artificial intelligence gait recognition engine generates biometric gait signatures and authenticates users by comparing the signatures with stored authorized profiles. An intrusion detection engine identifies unauthorized movement patterns and suspicious behavioral activities. Upon detection of unauthorized access, automated alerts are generated and transmitted to security personnel, dashboards and mobile devices. The invention provides continuous identity verification, non-invasive biometric authentication, real-time intrusion detection, centralized monitoring and adaptive learning capabilities. The invention further provides a technical solution for intelligent security monitoring through integration of pressure sensing hardware, embedded computing, wireless communication, artificial intelligence and real-time alert generation. Applicable domains include smart homes, critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, financial institutions, laboratories, airports and secure access environments.
