Abstract: An intelligent human-following assistive vehicle system (100) comprises a vehicle platform (102), a perception module (104), a centralized coordination module (106), a hand gesture recognition module (108), a safety override module (110), a traction control module (112), a steering control module (114), an emergency response module (116), and an onboard data logging module (118). The perception module acquires RGB image data representing user hand gestures and depth information representing surrounding obstacles. The centralized coordination module coordinates processing of the acquired data, validates gesture-derived vehicle movement commands using obstacle information received from the safety override module, and selectively transmits validated commands to the traction and steering control modules. The emergency response module processes predefined voice commands, while the onboard data logging module periodically records operational information including gesture commands, obstacle information, vehicle location, timestamps, emergency status, and captured environmental images. The system provides coordinated gesture-based vehicle control with integrated command validation and operational monitoring
