MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115363 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 24, 2026, for An Intelligent Domestic Ironing Appliance With Fabric-Aware Temperature And Power Regulation.

Inventor includes Dr. W. Rajan Babu.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The proposed invention is about a device used for ironing which can automatically control the temperature and heat power based on the type of fabric being ironed. As, ironing different fabric in a house is a day to day affair and even people with different age group use it widely, this intelligent domestic ironing appliance provides a best solution. The device includes a base with an electric heating element, a fabric detection system, a temperature detection system, a mini processor and a power control system. The fabric detection system is designed to get one or more details about the fabric, such as how light it reflects how it reacts to heat how it conducts electricity or any combination of these. The mini processor uses the information it gets to figure out what kind of fabric it is and then selects the appropriate temperature and heat power from a list of stored data in its database. A temperature sensor tells the processor what is the current temperature based on it, the processor uses that information to control the heat. The device also has other safety features, like stopping the heat if it gets too hot, going into off mode if it is not used and turning off if it is in idle condition. This invention helps make sure the heat is just right for the fabric to be ironed and thereby reduces the chance of damaging the fabric. Also, this system ensures safety of the users and optimized use of electrical energy.
