Abstract: An intelligent device monitors fuel consumption in a marine engine by synchronously measuring supplied fuel and returned fuel, compensating the measurements for fuel condition, and calculating net mass consumption. Engine operating information is correlated with the calculated consumption to produce load-sensitive efficiency indicators and identify persistent abnormal usage. The device locally presents results, stores time-aligned records with integrity protection, and selectively communicates authorised data to vessel or remote platforms. Marine-rated power conditioning, diagnostic supervision, and reserve energy support reliable operation during electrical disturbance and interrupted connectivity.
