Abstract: An integrated robotic agricultural system for simultaneous autonomous weeding and multi-parameter soil monitoring in a single field operation. The system comprises an autonomous mobile robotic platform having a chassis, locomotion unit and power source; a navigation module; a plant detection module having imaging sensors configured to distinguish crop plants from weeds; a soil sensing module adapted to measure soil parameters including pH, moisture, nutrient level, organic matter and compaction; an integrated tool assembly having a weed removal mechanism and a soil probe deployment mechanism; and a controller operatively connected thereto. The controller detects a weed, positions the tool assembly at the weed location, actuates the weed removal mechanism, and substantially simultaneously acquires soil parameter data at or adjacent that location during the same traversal pass. The geo-tagged weed and soil data are correlated to generate prescription maps for precision agricultural inputs. Multiple platforms may operate as a coordinated swarm. Fig. 8
