Abstract: The present invention, also referred to as Nature Inside (NI), relates to an integrated passive natural ventilation and cooling system for multi-storey buildings. The system comprises a rotatable air intake unit at the building top, comprising a protective mesh screen assembly, auto-adjusting louvers, a wind speed sensor, an air- driven turbine, and a multi-layer filtration chamber; a central vertical hollow shaft traversing all floors with a constricted mid-section; a soil-water-fragrance chamber at the shaft base comprising a soil-based growing structure, a drip irrigation system, and optional natural fragrance elements; living plant-covered wall panels flanking the shaft; and per-floor air distribution units connected to the shaft via horizontal conduits. Ambient air drawn through the rotatable air intake unit is filtered, driven downward with the assistance of the air-driven turbine, cooled and humidified at the soil-water-fragrance chamber, and thermally conditioned by the living plant panels, which absorb carbon dioxide and enrich oxygen content while optionally imparting a mild natural fragrance. Cooled, purified, and optionally fragranced air is distributed to each floor through the distribution units, while hot stale air is expelled upward by natural convection through the shaft and the leeward exhaust port of the intake unit. The system operates substantially without electrical energy for its primary functions, with minor auxiliary functions optionally supported by solar power, and is scalable for use in residential buildings, housing projects, hospitals, schools, and township-scale developments.
