Abstract: AN INTEGRATED HANDHELD MEDICAL DEVICE FOR DIABETES MANAGEMENT The present invention describes an integrated handheld medical device developed for efficient and comprehensive diabetes management. The apparatus comprises a therapeutic liquid drug delivery system for insulin administration, a blood glucose monitoring unit, a spring-based auto-lancet mechanism for blood sampling, and a biometric sensor suite. To reduce the risk of insulin dosing errors, especially for individuals with visual impairments, the therapeutic module includes an electromechanical dose selection system connected to a high-contrast digital display and an integrated audio output unit that verbally confirms the selected insulin dose before injection. The device also incorporates biometric sensors such as a photoplethysmography (PPG) optical sensor and a thermistor to monitor additional physiological parameters, including heart rate and body CM E o temperature, A central microcontroller unit manages the entire system by collecting and synchronizing blood glucose readings, insulin dosage records. o co o CD o Tf CD CM O cs s co o CD CM O CM 20 n I*ST co and biometric data into a single time-stamped digital log. This integrated approach reduces the need for multiple medical devices and eliminates manual record keeping, providing a more convenient and reliable solution for diabetes management.
