Abstract: The present invention provides a single, compact assembly that integrates a fuel-lid opener with an electrical safety switch, all housed within a single housing (318). The assembly further comprises of a two-leg moving terminal (312) carried on a plunger (214) that is biased by a compression spring (320) and gasket (314) to follow the plunger’s (214) motion. When the lid is closed, the partially compressed spring drives the moving legs to contact Terminal-R (328) and Terminal-M (326), sending a “closed” signal to the ECU. When the lid is opened, full spring extension shifts the legs to Terminal-R (328) and L-shaped Terminal-L (324), sending an “open” signal. The semicircular contacting head (402) and L-shaped profile ensure reliable contact under vibration, while the bidirectional assembly simplifies mounting and reduces part count for automotive fuel- filling enclosure applications.
