MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441099788 A) filed by Srividya Ramisetty; and Cmr Institute Of Technology on December 17, 2024, for An Innovative Automated Waste Segregator Powered Using Renewable Resource.
Inventor includes Srividya Ramisetty.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention is related to bifurcation of metallic and non metallic waste, using renewable source of energy. The indoor waste segregator powered using renewable resource to segregate non-metal and metal waste that can be recycled and reused is disclosed. An innovative automated waste segregator powered using renewable resource comprises of sensor, solar cells, electromagnet, controlling unit, collection bins and a sliding bin lid. Sliding bin lid acts as a collector of the waste, until the sensor, senses the waste on the lid. The segregation process may be initiated automatically after detection of the waste using the controlling unit. The bin slider is magnetized and demagnitized to dump the segregated waste into the respective sections of the bin. The magnetized slider slides in the direction of non-metallic collection section of the bin upto 75 degree angle and the non metallic wastes are dumped into the bin. After few seconds of delay the slider is demagnetized and it then slides in opposite direction upto 75 degree angle, the metallic waste falls from the slider and are collected into the metal collection section of the bin. The effortlessly segregated wastes can be further processed to be recycled and reused. The entire process is alternatively powered by renewable source of energy like solar energy.
