Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the process of the preparation of Vonoprazan Fumarate compound of Formula (I) Formula (I) which comprises of: a) reacting methyl-5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate of Formula (IV) Formula (IV) with a reducing agent in the presence of a solvent to give [5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-(pyridine-3-sulfonyl)- 1H-pyrrol-3-yl] methanol compound of Formula (III); Formula (III) b) chlorinating the compound of Formula (III) obtained in step (a) in the presence of a solvent to give 3-[4-(chloromethyl)-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrrole-1-sulfonyl] pyridine compound of Formula (II); Formula (II) c) converting the compound of Formula (II) obtained in step (b) by using methylamine or its salt, in the presence of a solvent to obtain Vonoprazan of Formula IA; Formula (IA) d) add Fumaric acid in presence of a solvent to give of Vonoprazan Fumarate compound of Formula (I); and e) optionally purifying the step (d) compound to obtain high pure compound of Formula (I).
