Abstract: ABSTRACT Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials due to its strength, durability, and versatility; however, it often faces issues such as brittleness, low tensile strength, and cracking, which can affect long-term performance. This study explores the use of hybrid fiber reinforcement by incorporating steel fibers and coconut coir fibers into concrete to improve its mechanical properties and durability. M40 grade concrete was prepared with different fiber combinations to evaluate their influence on workability, compressive strength, and flexural strength. Steel fibers were added to enhance strength and load-bearing capacity, while coconut coir fibers were used to improve ductility and reduce crack propagation. Experimental testing conducted at 7 and 28 days showed noticeable improvements in performance compared to conventional concrete. Among the mixes studied, the combination containing 1.5% steel fiber and 0.5% coir fiber demonstrated the best overall results. The study concludes that hybrid fiber reinforced concrete offers a sustainable, durable, and efficient solution for modern construction practices.
