The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: 7. ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a herbal composition system (100) for extending the shelf life of perishable fruits and vegetables without refrigeration. The system comprises herbal extracts (102) derived from antimicrobial, antifungal, and antioxidant-rich plant sources; a food-grade carrier medium (104) comprising purified water, ethanol, or a combination thereof; and optionally, natural film-forming agents (106) such as waxes or plant-based gums to enhance surface adhesion. The composition is applied via a coating or spray mechanism (108) to the surface of harvested produce (110), forming a thin, transparent, and odorless protective layer (112). This layer inhibits microbial growth, reduces moisture loss, and prevents oxidative spoilage, thereby preserving the taste, texture, color, and nutritional value of the produce. The formulation is non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for human consumption, offering a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to conventional chemical preservatives and cold storage. The invention is applicable to various fruits and vegetables and can extend shelf life by up to 30 days under ambient conditions.
