Abstract: AN EXTREME TORQUE TRANSIENT LOAD TESTING SYSTEM FOR A CROWN WHEEL AND PINION (CWP) ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT An extreme torque transient load testing system (100) for a Crown Wheel and Pinion (CWP) assembly (102) comprising, a test bench (104) having a plurality of fixtures (106) coupled with the CWP assembly (102), at least one servo-actuator (108) to impart torque transient loads on the CWP assembly (102). The system (100) further comprises an output dynamometer (112) to control back torque, a plurality of sensors to measure a vehicle-derived loading data, a control unit to receive and process the vehicle- derived loading data to generate structured duty cycles comprising one or more of block cycles, continuous torque cycles, and structured transient blocks, define each of the structured transient blocks, synchronize application of the peak torque hold phase with a defined gear mesh position of the CWP assembly (102), execute structured transient blocks using the at least one servo-actuator (108), and determine a fatigue response of the CWP assembly (102).
