Inventors include Dr Rajeev Kumar; Dr Ritesh Rastogi; Mr Vikrant Malik; Mr Ankur Kumar Varshney; Mr. Prateek Mathur; Ms Swati Singh; Mr Vansh Bhatt; and Ms. Sushma Choudhary.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an exoplanet candidate classification system and method thereof (100) that comprises a user device (102) configured to receive a request for classification analysis of astronomical observation candidates and a communication network (104) configured to transmit the request and data signals. An astronomical data archive server (106) stores Kepler Objects of Interest observational datasets including light curve parameters, stellar attributes, and candidate observation information. A processing unit (108) connected to the communication network (104) retrieves the observational datasets and performs automated classification. The processing unit (108) includes a data input module (110), a data preprocessing module (112) generating a structured dataset, a feature selection and dataset structuring module (114) creating a structured analytical feature matrix, and a machine learning classification module (116). A model evaluation module (118), an interpretability analysis module (120), and an output module (122) generate analytical outputs presented through a user interface (124).
