The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust airflow energy harvesting system comprising a micro wind turbine (100) positioned near an HVAC exhaust airflow outlet, a mechanical shaft coupling (101), a direct current generator (102), a voltage regulation unit (103), an energy storage unit (104), and an electrical load (105). The micro wind turbine (100) harnesses kinetic energy from exhaust airflow, the mechanical shaft coupling (101) transfers rotational motion to the DC generator (102), which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy through electromagnetic induction. The voltage regulation unit (103) stabilizes output voltage, while the energy storage unit (104) stores energy for use during low or no airflow conditions. The electrical load (105) is powered directly or through stored energy. The system operates passively, without microcontrollers, sensors, or control systems, enabling low-cost, low-maintenance installation with existing HVAC systems. Experimental validation achieved turbine rotational speeds of 500–1500 RPM and voltage output of 1.2 V to 5.0 V, suitable for powering LEDs and charging rechargeable batteries, contributing to building energy efficiency and green building development.
