Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an ethanolic extract composition (100) derived from aerial parts of Evolvulus alsinoides for neuroprotective and anti- amnesic applications. A plant-derived starting material (101) is collected, shade dried, and powdered before being contacted with ethanol to obtain an ethanolic extraction product (102). The extraction product (102) is filtered to remove insoluble plant residues and concentrated to obtain a concentrated extract fraction (103). The concentrated extract fraction (103) is subjected to phytochemical screening for identifying flavonoid constituents (104), phenolic constituents (105), and carbohydrate constituents (106). The resulting phytochemically characterized ethanolic extract composition (100) is incorporated into an oral therapeutic formulation (107) for subsequent use in cognitive dysfunction-related applications.
